This was actually Yutas first biggest mistake. He listened to others when his inner instinct kept telling him wassup. Yuta could've helped Gojo, he was strong enough to super jump Sukuna. It's why currently he's making the second mistake. Trying to be Gojo instead of using Gojo.

He also has his memories, so he essentially has 35 years of experience with fighting and 28 years of experience of limitless.

Haven’t watched the video yet, but my thoughts on this were always based on the nature of cursed energy; it’s energy from negative feelings right, so being selfless isn’t going to make you stronger because there’s nothing negative about that, but being selfish and greedy with a “I take what I want” kind of attitude is negative and would just fuel your cursed energy. Big example of this in action would be Yuji vs Choso, I like to think that the reason why he lost that fight and why he’s been constantly losing everyone around him and going through so much suffering has been because he’s completely rid himself of any idea of selfishness. Yuji’s too good for JJK, and he’s constantly punished for it, because this world rewards selfishness. You could even make the same argument for when Gojo got sealed, him not being selfish enough to just expand Infinite Void right then and there in order to kill Kenjaku and everyone else is the reason why things turned out the way that they are now. He was too selfless though, and him getting sealed allowed for basically all of the bad events in the series to happen. Yuta being selfless and sacrificing his humanity to beat Sukuna might also result in another bad outcome. Honestly, I feel like the only real counter example is Toji, which is funny considering that he doesn’t even have cursed energy. Even then though, you could argue that him staying to fight an awakened Gojo wasn’t him being selfish, but prideful.
